Language and Land Use - Exhibition Leaflet

A combined leaflet and poster, intended to sympathetically promote an exhibition of work by Canadian artist, Marlene Creates. One side of the solution, a poster attracted attention while the other side provided information and insight into the artist through the typographic treatment. The format, structure and content of the layout were designed to intentionally support and reinforce ideas inherent within the artists own work. The use of a fold out leaflet, opening to form the shape of a letter ’T’ directly referenced the presentation of the exhibits and created an unusual poster shape. The resulting solution upon folding also created a compact and intriguing mailing device.

The exhibition was first shown at the Medicine Hat Museum & Art Gallery (now the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre).
